Google Project ARA

The Project ARA is a product of Google and Motorola when it was initiated, but now we can see all the possible big players playing their big hand in making this work. The companies like Linaro, Toshiba, Quanta, Foxconn Interconnect Technology (FIT), Linux Solutions, LeafLabs, NK Labs, IDT Systems, BayLibre, New Deal Design, Metamorph Software, X5 Systems, Mixel, Opersys, NewOldBits, and Oxford System are part of this project.

The Project ARA Smartphone is a modular Smartphone where a user can change the physical components of the device without going through the trouble of removing all the screws. In the ARA phone user has to just slide the components they want on their device.

For instance, if a user wants a 16MP camera, all he has to do is, just slide out the existing camera module and replace it with 16MP camera module. ARA is just the platform and with this you will never envy other Smartphones over yours.
