7 Big Tech Acquisitions in The Last Decade

The social media giant acquired the mobile messaging app paying a total of $22billion. When the acquisition happened last year, Facebook CEO Cakr Zuckerberg commented, “The right strategy is to focus on connecting the people before aggressively turning them into businesses.” The payment was done mostly with equity and additional rise in stock price.

Google & Motorola, 2011

One of the largest acquisitions by the search engine giant was taking on Motorola Mobility in 2011. The value of transaction as shown to the media was $12.5 billion. $40 of the share was paid in cash. Clayton Moran, an analyst at Benchmark Co. in Boca Raton, Florida shared his view on this, “This is the next step in building their position in the mobile world so they can distribute Google products and services through mobile phones and tablets.”
