7 States Express Interest To Adopt Fibrenet Over Broadband Network


BENGALURU: “Under SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) seven states have proposed to rollout broadband network”-IT Minister Ravishanikar Prasad. It looks like the nation is groomed to reach the next level NET experience as the government of India is planned to connect 2.5 lakh villages under the Bharat Net, with 7 states such as Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal have expressed their interest in adopting the Fiber Net Optic over the present Broadband Network, repots bgr.in.

 The mission of Connecting of 2.5 lakh villages is expected to be accomplished by the end of 2016.  Once the SPV is launched, speed and the prices are believed to go under drastic changes, 10 MBPS for 150  is the calculated figure by the Haryana GOVT. Bharath Broad Band Network Limited, Powergrid, BSNL and RailTEL oversees are the present national broad band network providers. Central government has now agreed to allow private sectors to direct the upcoming SPV on the particular states interest.

Budget has to incline almost four times than  the present (20,000cr), expected is (72,000cr). If the New SPV comes under act and  the availability of the net is expected to be 99.9 Pct , with only nine hours of service down per year is envisioned. The Department of Telecom Joint Secretary V Umashankar stated-“The new SPV vision is to connect every house under the village panchayat and all the GOVT in institutions under district levels, if we are able to create 100 users at each panchayat level, then it will enhance GDP by about 66,500 crore”.
