Open Library is an online library created by Aaron Swartz, Brewster Kahle and the site is a part of the project called Internet Archive, which is a non profitable project, funded by the California State Library and the Kahle or Austin Foundation. Books form this site can either be read online or downloaded as E-books for free, further, the site is suppose to have collection of 20 million books.   

Project Gutenberg:

Project Gutenberg was created by the Michael S. Hart, in order to encourage the creation and distribution of eBooks. Since it was formed in 1971, it is the oldest digital library, additionally the motto of the project is make the service free as much as possible, books can be read on almost any computer and has collection of more than 50, 000 books as of 2015.

Google Books:

Google Books is among the services that the Google is providing through the digital technology, readers can either read books online or can download E-books through the Google Books app that is available for android device users. Through the site, one can search for full texts of books or the magazines that the Google has scanned, converted to text using optical character recognition, and stored in its digital database and published online.

Amazon Kindle:

Amazon Kindle is probably the most popular digital library in the contemporary era. Amazon Kindle is a series of devices that is designed to read and download E-books online form the Amazon Kindle store. It was first introduced in 2007 and Kindle store app was released to both android devices and iOS devices. As of the latest reports, kindle store now houses more than 3.6 million E-books.  

Manybooks.Net

ManyBooks.net is a slimier site to the of project Guttenberg, except, it does not consists the Human Genome Project and audio eBooks, due to size constraints, and the Project Gutenberg of Australia eBooks, due to copyright issue. Currently, the site is added with most of the PG books within short period of the release. Further, The E-books shall be created and delivered only on the request by using a range of tools, and cached using Amazon's S3 service, hence the first requested E-books shall delayed to deliver and the subsequent deliveries shall be done without more ado.

Renting books form libraries are mostly common among the students, but most of us haven’t heard of renting books online, yes that is possible through the Amazon kindle, since it is tied up with many of the libraries around the world. Users can search for a particular product using app’s search engine among various libraries, and can be rented.
