BANGALORE: Whatsapp have been doing a lot lately without even reaching the Google Play Store, like the voice calling feature and now the latest update which is available out on the store. The new update comes with some additional features and the update can be downloaded directly from the company’s website, reports TOI.  Check out the new features that came in with the update:

Mark as Unread

The option is just to read the message unread even after reading, this is in an order to mark or highlight the message so you could get back to it. And it would show the sender as read even though you have marked it unread.

Custom notifications

The power to handle in your way-customization, whatsapp provided the settings so the phone could be tuned to ring on a certain tone for a selective contact. Apart from that the pop-up notifications, vibrating alerts, notification light colors and separate calls, all can be attuned to your wish.

Mute individual contacts

Till now you can just mute a group conversation, but with the update an individual contact can be muted regardless of muting entire.

To mute him/her go to about and on mute option, slide it to the right and set the timer till when you need it on silent.

Lower data consumption in WhatsApp calls

If you are at the end of data consumption because of chats and calling on Whatsapp, then go to options and select ‘low data consumption’ option. By this Whatsapp will regulate your data and try to conserve some while you are on calls.

Google Drive integration

Having a backup of your chats somewhere other than your phone, with your friends is really good. This option with store in Google Drive was always in loop and now came down with this update. In settings go to account and then Network Usage menu where the details of data consumption is stored: sent and received.
